Color change has been quite dramatic in just the past week across the Adirondacks. Parts of the High Peaks region, Saranac Lake region, and southwestern Adirondacks near Old Forge are already closing in on 50 percent change.
The rest of upstate New York can expect some modest color change this weekend, with the exception of the southern Finger Lakes region, along with the Niagara Frontier.
If your plans for this weekend take you into Vermont, your drive will be pretty scenic if traveling through the Green Mountains. Moderate color is expected this weekend in the Greens.
You’ll have to drive pretty far north into Maine to see some noticeable color this weekend, but if your travels take you there expect up to 30 percent change in the northwestern part of the state.
The good news is whether you’re going on a hike, scenic drive, or hot air balloon ride (the Adirondack Balloon Festival is this weekend in Glens Falls), the weather will be amazing this weekend across the northeast.
