Helping children overcome difficult experiences is the goal of the Purpose Farm in Baldwinsville.

The farm pairs kids from six through 18-years-old with rescue animals to provide comfort and wellbeing. The youth mentoring services are free of charge while the farm is run by volunteers.

Workers say the experience allows kids to take their mind off their personal issues to focus on the friendly animals.

"It allows them to relax and just feel like they have a purpose somewhere in the world,” said Purpose Farm volunteer Abbie Steffy. “Especially here, we always want people to feel like they're welcome and loved."

The farm will be hosting its largest fundraiser of the year with Goat Yoga on Saturday, May 18th.
