Dick's Sporting Goods Open hits the links this weekend
The Dick's Sporting Goods Open tees off for the first round Friday at En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott. The tournament, running through Sunday, is rain or shine; there are concession stands at the main concourse; the fourth and ninth tees; the first fairway; and the 17th green. Boilermaker Road Race steps off Sunday
The annual Boilermaker Road Race, featuring the 15K run, a 5K run, a wheelchair race and a virtual race, will begin at 7:15 a.m. Sunday in Utica. The 15K run's start line is at Culver and Dwyer avenues, with a start time of 8 a.m. Sunday. The post-race party is at F.X. Matt Brewing (900 Columbia Street). Saint Elias Festival in Syracuse's west side this weekend
The annual Saint Elias Middle Eastern Festival on Syracuse's west side, at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church, runs through Sunday, featuring ethnic foods, live music and dancing. Parking and admission is free. The festival runs from noon-10 p.m. on Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, check the festival website.
Macaroni and cheese. That's it; that's the heading
Syracuse's Mac-'N-Cheese Fest will be held from 3-11 p.m. Saturday in Clinton Square. There will be a number of food trucks — all with at least one macaroni and cheese special on the menu. There will also be drinks, live music and craft vendors. Admission is free, and pets are welcome. All proceeds support 727 Instrumental, Inc., which gives underserved Central New York students with musical instruments and six months of free lessons. The 18th annual New York Lavender Festival will be held at Olfactory Farm (12973 Upton Road, Red Creek) Saturday and Sunday.
