Syracuse is making strides in becoming a tech city as Mayor Ben Walsh proclaimed this week 'Tech Week.'
It's the first ever Tech Week in the city. All week long, events will take place at Hotel Syracuse highlighting the city's technology ecosystem. They include Drone Day, Robots Day, Cybersecurity Day, and Raspberry Pi Day.
People will have a chance to experience virtual reality technology, fly drones, and build robots.
"I think with the efforts and innovation and even the startups at the Tech Garden, we love technology,” said Advanced IT President Susan Fahrenkrug. “We embrace technology. My vision of Tech Week was more than just something you walk around and see. I wanted it to be something that you see, you hear, you touch, you feel."
Events run from 3-7 p.m. until Friday. On Saturday, the focus is the Internet and a Technology Job Fair from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
