The West Genesee Central School District has another interim superintendent following the departure of Chris Brown.
Michael Schiedo is coming out of retirement to temporarily lead the district. He spent three decades as an educator, most recently as the superintendent of the Chittenango Central and Lyncourt Union Free School Districts.
The announcement comes at a time of uncertainty for the West Genesee district. The former superintendent Chris Brown stepped down after social media posts alleged a close personal relationship with another district employee.
Now, Schiedo says he's dedicated to rebuilding trust.
"My role is really to come in and try to provide a smooth transition for the district while they're searching for a new superintendent,” said Schiedo. “The district already has a great reputation but I'll be very visible and accessible."
It could take six to nine months to find the districts new, permanent superintendent.
