A man who dedicated his life to helping the young and homeless in Central New York has died.
Clarence Jordan served the community for the last 50 years. Jordan led the Rescue Mission for 38 years as an Executive Director and was the lead fund developer at Mercy Works since 2006.
Both organizations have named facilities in his honor, including the Clarence L Jordan Food Service and Culinary Education Center. The Rescue Mission also gives out the Clarence Jordan Hope Award.
Jordan's efforts helped raise more than $100 million for local community efforts. He also served on several local boards, including the Boeheim Foundation.
Jordan was 88.
