HERKIMER, N.Y. -- Following a recount, the Village of Herkimer will have a new mayor.

On election night, results showed Democrat Mark Netti as the winner.

But it was close enough that incumbent republican Anthony Brindisi wanted a recount. That recount happened on Friday.

It confirmed that Netti won, by fewer than a dozen votes. Netti is expected to take over the role next month.
