1. DocGo will remain upstate temporarily, despite pending end of NYC migrant contract
New York City officials are planning to end their contract with DocGo, the medical services company which has been coordinating housing and services for its influx of migrants. The decision will impact upstate communities and the migrants the city has relocated there.
The late state budget is threatening to create challenges for schools, which are trying to finalize their own budgets that need voter approval.
3. Changing how we plan ahead: The benefits of creating a will sooner rather than later
According to AARP, only 24% of people aged 18 to 34 have a will. When you go from 25 to 54, that number goes down 3%. Those over the age of 55, it's still less than half of the people, with only 45% of individuals ages 55 and older having a will. Many say they don't want to think about mortality, don't want to pay lawyer costs to get one done and don't want to spend time in a lawyer's office to get it done.
