Q: When the Onondaga County Department of Transportation does road work and has parts or equipment on the yards of private land owners, do you have to pay them? How does that work?
A: I reached out to the county and their spokesperson says they aren't supposed to leave their equipment or supplies on private land. They say "the equipment should not be on homeowners personal property. We do not pay homeowners for our equipment to sit on their property. If you would like to have the caller call me or give me their name and number I am happy to call them. I will find out who it was and address it with that company, referring to the company that has the contract to do the job for Onondaga County."
The viewer says the particular area is off of Taft Road, so the county is following up in this instance to see if construction equipment or supplies is being left in private yards.
