A dry start for most Saturday with some sun here and there will give way to scattered showers during the afternoon. A period of more widespread rain will be possible towards evening. A few scattered showers are also expected on Mother's Day, but a lot of dry weather is too. Even some sun may mix in spots, especially after noon.

A Binghamton police officer should face discipline and potentially termination for kneeling on a handcuffed individual who was lying face-down on a sidewalk, state AG Letitia James’ Law Enforcement Misconduct Investigative Office said in a report released Friday.
