It's the end of an era, as two of Central New York's most popular radio personalities are going off the air.

Tom Owens and Becky Palmer, popularly known as “Tom and Becky” of B104.7, announced Tuesday morning that they're leaving the station after more than a decade together.

“After so long, we've finally decided, Tom and Becky are going to hit the road. And partner, it's been a long, beautiful run,” Owens said to their listeners.

They both decided it was time to move on to a new chapter in their lives. For Palmer, that involves traveling the country in her recently renovated mobile home. Owens plans to spend more time with family in Florida.

They both said they're going to miss being a regular part of their listeners' lives.

"We represent this community to the country stars,” Palmer said. “We bring the country stars to them and I think they really get quite a kick out of it, as we do too.”

“We're out at the concerts. We're out with hometown tour breakfast broadcasts,” Owens said. “We're out at the high school with the American Heart Walk. It's so much fun to meet the folks that listen to you every morning and say I wake up with you every morning and I feel like I know you. I'll miss that."

Tom and Becky's last broadcast will be Friday, December 20.
