  • There has been a lot of preparation work to get ready for Tuesday night's show

“What a better way to show the community that we’re still here and we’re still fighting, and we just love to dance and be onstage and give back to the community anyway we can," said Cara Connolly, professional ballet dancer.

The ballet dancers are passionate about continuing to dance for their community, which is in part they decided to create a holiday show. They say they’ve received support from around the world, both verbal and financial.

They continue to practice regularly ahead of a show, which will have selections from the Nutcracker and other holiday songs.

As for getting the production together so quickly, one dancer says it's been a whirlwind bringing all the details together. She also says they have been working non-stop, more so than before they were fired last month.

“It’s the best feeling, its so lovely to feel like you get your life back, and you feel like you get your life back every time you step onstage," said Connolly.

Their show is called A Celebration of the Season, and the curtain will rise at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in The Palace Theatre in Syracuse.

There will also be a post-show reception where they are eager to meet their supporters from near and far.
