The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-0 tornado touched down in southern Monroe County on Wednesday.

The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies an EF-0 as weak, ranging from 65 to 85 miles per hour.

The tornado touched down on the ground at 6:53 p.m. and lasted until 6:57 p.m. That doesn't seem like a lot of time, but it was able to travel a whole 4.2 miles from Wheatland Center to Scottsville. At its strongest point, the tornado reached 75 mph and was about 100 yards wide.
