The Ronald McDonald House hosts another successful radiothon on Saturday at Crossgates Mall.

This is the 15th year local organizations offered family-friendly activities to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The Executive Director says this is the most vital fundraiser of the year.

All of the proceeds go directly toward families who have sick children and utilize the house.

Last year the local groups raised about 130-thousand dollars and they're expecting close to that this year.

Jeff Yule, Ronald McDonald House Executive Director tells us, "Once again, our community has c ome through, and the phones are ringing and the donations are coming in. It's been a big success."

"People are generous. People are understanding. They know what their purpose in life is: to help out other families," say Jennifer and Nathan Snyder, members of Ronald McDonald House.

Kristina Lachaga, an aspiring pop star, performed at the event.

Our Karen Tararache featured Lachaga on a Capital Region Close Up last week. If you missed it, you can see more on our website http://www.twcnews.com/nys/capital-region/close-up/2016/01/15/aspiring-pop-star-aims-to-be-a-positive-role-model-for-kids.html
