SPECTRUM NEWS VIDEO: The playoffs began for Classes A, B, and C Friday night. We also had some great games from the final week of the Class AA regular season.
Class AA
Schenectady 36, Bethlehem 29
Schenectady ends their regular season with a 36-29 win over Bethlehem. Seven Terry hit Jeremiah Davis with under a minute left for a touchdown to win this game. The Patriots were still playing for a playoff spot heading into this game, but fall just short with CBA beating Guilderland Friday night.
CBA 21, Guilderland 18.
CBA with a last second touchdown to beat Guilderland 21-18. The Brothers put together a late drive, capped off by Tyler Fort scoring the touchdown with eight seconds left. With the Win CBA is the three seed in Class AA. They will take on Shenendehowa in the semifinal round next week. Guilderland gets into the playoffs as the four seed and will take on Shaker next week.
Shaker 49, Colonie 13
Shaker ends their regular season with a big rivalry win over Colonie. The Blue bison are the top seed in the class AA playoffs and will face Guilderland next week.
Shenendehowa 40, Saratoga 14
The Plainsmen head into the playoffs on a winning note with a 40-14 win over Saratoga. Shenendehowa is the Two seed and will face CBA in the semifinal round.
Class A
Burnt Hills 17, Averill Park 7
In our Friday Night Matchup, Burnt Hills continues their title defense with a 17-7 win over Averill Park in the Class A Sectional Quarterfinal Round. The Spartans advance to the semifinals and will play the winner of Queensbury and La Salle.
Troy 48, Scotia-Glenville 13
The Flying Horses are off to the Class A Sectional Semifinals with a 48-13 win over the Tartans. Xavier Leigh had four touchdowns in the game. Troy will play Ballston Spa in the semifinal round.
Ballston Spa 35, Amsterdam 12
The Scotties moving on in sectionals with a 35-12 win over the Rams. Ballston Spa will take on Troy in the semifinal round next week.
Class B
Schalmont 28, Hudson 0
Schalmont is moving on in the Class B playoffs with a 28-0 win over Hudson Falls. The Sabres move on to face Schuylerville in the semifinal round next week.
Schuylerville 28, Cobleskill-Richmondville 0
The Black Horses take down the Bulldogs 28-0 to advance to the Class B semifinal round. They will take on Schalmont next week.
Class C
Stillwater 42, Granville 16
The Stillwater football team got off to a big of a slow start in its quarterfinal matchup with Granville, but the Warriors ran away late to a 42-16 win over the Golden Horde. Stillwater advances to the semifinals to take on Greenwich.
Greenwich 45, Fonda-Fultonville 7
The Greenwich football team looks really dangerous right now. The Witches rolled to a 45-7 win over Fonda in the Class C Quarterfinals Friday night. Next up they have a date with Stillwater in the semifinal round.
Tamarac 28, Watervliet 16
The Tamarac football team won its first Sectional playoff game since 1983 in a 28-16 win over Watervliet. The Bengals advance to the Class C semifinal round where they'll take on the winner of Cambridge and Voorheesville next week.
