SPECTRUM NEWS VIDEO: It was a weekend soon-to-be Averill Park grad Alana Carroll will never forget. Carroll laid it all on the line at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Track and Field Tournament this past weekend and captured a national championship in the pole vault with a personal best vault of 13 feet, 6 1/4 inches. Carroll said her ability to stay calm under pressure was the reason for her success. Carroll will attend Harvard in the fall and will continue her track and field career.
