Matthew Coons is being remembered as someone who always thought of others.
He served in the United States Army and was discharged honorably. He became a personal trainer and trained clients all across the Capital Region, including at Alpin Haus Fitness.
Coons was in the limousine that crashed Saturday in Schoharie, killing 20 people, with his girlfriend Savannah Bursese, celebrating their friend Amy’s 30th birthday.
We spoke to one of Coons' friends, who describes him as someone who could light up a room.
"Matt is definitely going to leave a big hole. Very big shoes to fill, and I don't think anyone can. He found his true love in Savannah," says Jim Evans.
