It's almost post time for Opening Day at Saratoga.

The Saratoga Race Course's 2022 season officially opens Thursday, running through the first week of September. Races at the track begin at 1:05 p.m. Thursday, with a 10-race schedule.

The biggest and most lucrative of the stakes races at the track, of course, is the $1,250,000 Travers Stakes. The season's signature race, dubbed the "Mid-Summer Derby," will be run Saturday, Aug. 27.

One of the big non-track attractions at Saratoga: the giveaways. This season includes what NYRA calls "premium giveaway items" at the track: a picnic blanket on July 29; a long-sleeve t-shirt on Aug. 19; and a mini-umbrella on Sept. 2.

Daily general admission is $10 for the clubhouse and $7 for the grandstand, with Travers day prices of $20 for the grandstand and $30 for the clubhouse. Season passes run $60 for the grandstand and $85 for the clubhouse. More ticket information can be found here.

There are multiple parking options:

  • The preferred parking spots, three areas in all, range from $8-10 in advance, depending on day, with a $15 charge for Whitney and Travers days. Day-of parking for the preferred spots is $12, and $15 on Whitney and Travers days.
  • Trackside parking ranges from $12-15 in advance, depending on day, and is $20 on Whitney and Travers days. Day-of parking trackside ranges from $10-15 depending on time of day, and $20 on Whitney and Travers days.
