Josh Conner joined Spectrum News 1 in Albany in June 2021.
Josh started at Spectrum as an intern in Raleigh, N.C., in 2019 while still in college, and after graduating UNC Chapel Hill, moved to Albany to join the team as a multimedia journalist.
As soon as he arrived in the area, he was happily surprised with the beauty of the region. He moved to Albany without ever visiting, but says the mountains remind him of the Appalachian in North Carolina. Josh is so grateful to be part of such a welcoming community in Albany, and is proud to report for the people who live there.
Josh's interests in revealing untold stories and history brought him to reporting. One memorable story he reported on was about UNC’s first black basketball player Charles Scott. Previously omitted from the school’s basketball museum, this story was able to draw attention to his impact and ultimately Charles Scott’s display was put out for viewing.
Josh really enjoys the outdoors, and loves the opportunity to explore a region so rich in history. When not reporting, you may find him hiking, camping or binging his favorite shows. He’s also an avid sports fan, and loves to play and watch them. He is able to cite sports trivia from before his times, and looks forward to covering sports stories whenever he can.
