One of the suspects in the killing of a 19-year-old woman in Troy appeared Friday in Rensselaer County court.

Tuesday, Troy Police traveled to Logan Airport in Boston to arrest Antwaun Twitty. Friday, the 30-year-old was arraigned on one count of second degree murder.

According to investigators, Twitty is one of three people suspected in the death of 19-year-old Beyonce Wint in September. Idelisse Amstread of Brooklyn was also arrested and arraigned earlier this week.

Wint was allegedly shot to death in the area of Fourth Avenue and 111th Street.

After Twitty pleaded not guilty this morning, Rensselaer County Conflict Defender Joseph Ahearn said he expects his client to hire a new private attorney in the days ahead. He says he’s yet to hear Twitty’s side of the story.

"I’ll have a long chat with him next week down at the jail," Ahearn said. "This is not the place to have that long conversation in the holding area, because there’s too many prisoners around, there’s too many officers around. I will have a conversation with him next week in private, and we’ll start working on his defense from there."

Police are still trying to  locate a third suspect in this case: Isaiah Williams of Brooklyn.

Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly was not available for comment after this morning’s arraignment. Twitty was sent back to the Rensselaer County Jail without bail.
