Governor Andrew Cuomo insisted he won't meddle with a commission that is determining the future of how elections are funded and whether candidates can continue to run on multiple party lines.

The process is called fusion voting.  When voters go to the booths on Election Day, they often see the candidates' name printed multiples under minor parties, like the Conservative Party and the Working Families Party. That could change based on the recommendations of a commission meeting this month around the state.

Governor Cuomo says he won't interfere.

"I have benefited from fusion voting in the past. Many elected officials have,” Cuomo said. “I've run on multiple party lines, so I've participated in it. I don't have any recommendation to the commission. They should use their own independent judgment. But I have supported fusion voting in the past because I've been a part of it. "

The future of those minor party ballot lines could very much be in doubt if fusion voting where to end.
