New York officials on Tuesday announced five states had been added to the state's quarantine travel advisory while also reaching the milestone of 10 million tests conducted for the coronavirus.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office announced Arizona, Minnesota, Nevada, Rhode Island, and Wyoming have reached the threshold for being added to the state's travel advisory, which requires people who have entered New York from those states to quarantine themselves for two weeks upon arriving in New York.

No areas of the country were removed from the list, which has now grown to 34 states and Puerto Rico.

The results of 83,997 tests in the last day found a positive rate of 0.89% or 754 new cases of the coronavirus. Three people have been confirmed to have died of the virus, and 470 people are hospitalized.

"For a clear example of the continuing extent of the COVID crisis in America, look no further than New York's travel advisory list. The virus' spread across the country — new cases have increased more than 15 percent in the last 10 days — makes it all the more urgent that we stay vigilant here at home," Cuomo said.

"That's why New Yorkers need to continue wearing masks, socially distancing and washing their hands in conjunction with the careful enforcement of local governments. We can defeat this virus by staying New York tough, but we have a long way to go."
