OHIO — Shrearer's, an Ohio-based company known for its chips and crackers, has issued a voluntary recall for 15,000 cases of oyster crackers that may be contaminated with pieces of metal.

The crackers were sold at Walmart, Giant Eagle, Target and other locations in a variety of states: Ohio, Alabama, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi, Minnesota, Montana, Michigan, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

The voluntary recall was originally issued in February, but the Food and Drug Administration updated the recall as a Class II, meaning using the product could cause temporary or "medically reversible adverse health consequences."
