Saturday marked I Love My Park Day.
Thousands of volunteers from across the state headed to parks, beaches, trails and historic sites to clean up and make improvements to the great outdoors.
From Long Island to the Canadian border, more than 150 parks received deserved attention.
Those driving into Moreau Lake State Park in Saratoga County saw more than 100 volunteers performing 17 different jobs -- all decked out in yellow I Love My Park Day t-shirts.
Many were cleaning signs, raking up the ground and sprucing up the picnic tables.
"It's been such a long stretch of time, for two years, where we haven't worked collaboratively with one another in so many different ways,” Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner (D-Round Lake) said. “Everybody's been home working remotely, and so, events like this, that bring people together in a collaborative fashion. I think, is really important in building that sense of community across the state."
Saturday marked the 11th annual I Love My Park Day in New York.
