Staff at Glen Falls Hospital will soon be required to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The announcement came Friday afternoon and applies to all staff.
That includes physicians, contractors and all personnel with clinical and nonclinical responsibilities.
Right now, 86% of hospital employees are fully vaccinated. Those who are not must get their shots by October 1.
Anyone who fails to show proof of vaccination by this time will be fired unless they have a deferral or exemption. Those with an exemption will still need to undergo weekly testing.
Officials with Albany Med announced earlier this week they would also be requiring staff to receive the vaccine.
