With storms rolling through the Capital Region again this weekend, some businesses are still recovering from the last round.
Among them is Kay's Pizza in Averill Park, which saw major flooding this past Thursday.
The restaurant, which sits along Burden Lake, had to close its doors Thursday night when water began to flood into their outdoor seating area. Water levels that came close to one foot in depth, flooding the parking lot, patio and even bringing down trees.
Owner James Lily said they had to bring customers indoors because of safety concerns. But he says they're lucky they didn’t suffer any lasting damages like other restaurants that surround the lake.
"We don’t know what’s going to happen," Lily said. "The water has went down, I’d say a good foot and a half. But with more rain coming in, I’m afraid that the lake is going to overflow again."
Lily says they will have to be on the lookout for future safety concerns as summer storms continue to move through the area.
