The Capital District Transit Authority is getting nearly $2.5 million in federal funds from the American Rescue Plan.
That money will go toward the Washington-Western BRT transit line. This new 8.5-mile line will include 16 stations, from the downtown Albany Bus Terminal through U-Albany and the Harriman State Office Complex, and then over to Crossgates Mall.
Congressman Paul Tonko says extending the reach of transportation will help workers and help travelers visit local and regional destinations.
This CDTA project is one of 22 transit initiatives nationwide to receive funding under the American Rescue Plan.
