Congressman Paul Tonko is demanding answers after saying there's been extensive delays from the United States Postal Service.

He says many of these delays are directly impacting people in the Capital Region.

In a letter to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, the congressman says he's "deeply troubled," adding many are depending on life-saving medications and other important necessities.

Similar concerns arose last year, particularly towards the 2020 election.

And about a month ago, during a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing, DeJoy apologized for slow moving mail during the peak holiday season, and promised for better.

Spectrum News has yet to receive a response to the congressman's letter.
