The cause of an Albany fire, which left one person hospitalized with minor injuries, is being investigated.

The fire happened around 4 p.m. Sunday at 6 Brevator Street. The Albany Fire Department says it arrived within 1 minute of the call.

The fire was knocked down in a short period of time. Fortunately, no firefighters were injured.

The fire chief shed some light on the fire detectors in the building.

"The alarms were working. They alerted the occupants, which is a plus for us on fire prevention month. We encourage everyone to, this is a great example to check your smoke detectors, check your carbon monoxide detectors," said Albany Fire Chief Joseph Gregory.

Gregory says the fire was mainly in the rear side of the building.

The American Red Cross is assisting. The building is now being evaluated.
