Jon Maltz, Claire Flynn, Matthew Joseph, and 13 of their peers from Questar III’s New Visions: Visual & Performing Arts Program, are creating a video to raise awareness and breakdown the stigma around suicide.

The students partnered with the Rensselaer County suicide prevention task force, who helped form the narrative of their video, focusing on the key signs of someone thinking about committing suicide. In October, the CDC reported the rate of suicide among those aged 10 to 24 increased by 56 percent from 2007 to 2017.

The group also wants their project to send a poignant message: You are not alone. The students will spend the next few weeks editing the video before presenting it to the suicide prevention task force and schools around the Capital Region.
