The trial for Prestige Limousine Operator Nauman Hussain has been postponed.

A judge on Wednesday set a new trial date of March 9. Hussain faces 20 counts of manslaughter and 20 counts of criminally negligent homicide charges in connection with the deadly limo crash in Schoharie last October.

The trial was set for January but some of the proceedings were recently pushed back as prosecutors are now giving over exculpatory evidence to the defense team.

September 27:

A judge approved a request from prosecutors to turn over any potentially exculpatory evidence in the case.

Friday night, Spectrum News learned that evidence is subpoenaed material from Mavis Discount Tire.

This comes after victims' families filed lawsuits against Mavis alleging the business carried out an inadequate inspection, including inadequate repairs of the vehicle, prior to the crash.

September 26:

The court granted the district attorney an extra three weeks to answer the defense's omnibus motion filed earlier this month, taking the due date to October 16 for prosecutors.

The defense's motion includes a request for the district attorney to hand over any evidence that may be exculpatory to the defense team. There are currently no pre-trial hearings being pushed back.
