Authorities have identified the victim in a deadly crash involving an SUV and dumpt truck on Route 30 in Schoharie County on Friday.

First responders were first called to the crash around 9 a.m. Friday.

They say the driver of the SUV, Kathleen Doyle of Gilboa, crossed into the path of the dump truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

For most of the day, a portion of the road that connects Schoharie to Middleburgh was blocked off to both lanes of traffic as they reconstructed the crash.

Authorities haven't released the cause of the crash, but the Schoharie County sheriff spoke to the resilience of the first responders in the area.

"We have a solid core of first responders, we had our share of challenges in this county. And when that fire whistle blows or pages, they do their job and they do it well,” said Ronald Stevens.

The sheriff's office is still investigating exactly what happened Friday morning, but they say they do not believe there will be any charges or tickets against the driver.
