A Queens lawmaker and his team is calling on the City to keep an eye on disrespectful behavior from residents hanging out in their local park.  

City Councilman Bob Holden’s team says people have been disrupting the serene Ridgewood Reservoir with illegal activities for more than a decade. They captured this video over the weekend at the historic site inside Highland Park. Holden's team says people drink, use drugs, and blast music in the parking lot as the weather gets warmer. They say the also see people driving ATVs on pedestrian paths surrounding the Reservoir and they see cyclists disrupting traffic.

"You work hard during the week and you want to kind of let loose and relax a little bit. And you come to really what is a, a beautiful, uh, place of nature. It's just ruined," said Daniel Kurzyna, Chief of Staff for Council Member Holden. ​

A City Parks Department spokeswoman says that Parks Enforcement has stepped up night patroll. The NYPD says it will be assigning extra resources come summer, including foot and scooter patrols.
