A house on Saratoga Lake was destroyed by a fire on Sunday afternoon.

Quaker Springs firefighters responded to a call on Saratoga Lake Road, right off Route 9p.

Fire officials say the house is a total loss and a nearby car was also charred.

They believe a space heater may have caused the fire to break out.

"There was a couple of construction workers working inside. They heard a bag so possibly a space heater inside, a large fire came along with the bang. By the time we got here, the flames were through the roof of the place,” said Chief Sean Dooley.

Everyone inside got out safely and no one was injured.
