A man accused of setting four fires throughout the city of Pittsfield has been arrested.
Police say 58-year-old Phillip Jordan was caught at the Canada-Vermont border. He is accused of setting the fires Saturday at homes on Appleton Avenue, Fort Hill Avenue, Ridge Avenue and Brown Street.
Jordan was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Agents.
Jordan's brother spoke with Spectrum News, and said Phillip suffers from mental health and drug issues. He said he got a call from Phillip earlier in the day, saying he was going to set his house on fire.
