Last month, a controversial decision was made by the Department of Health by shutting down the lemonade stand of a 7-year-old Ballston Spa boy.
After Brendan Mulvaney's story gained the attention of major lawmakers including Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the lemonade stand reopened today.
Brendan's lemonade stand, which is right outside of the Saratoga County Fair, was shut down last month when a state health inspector said the boy did not have a permit. The story sparked outrage, and drew the ire of leaders across the state.
Today, Brendan's father says the lemonade stand is back open, and the boy is raising money for a good cause. The lemonade stand on Fairground Avenue is raising money for Madison Moore, a young girl battling a rare bone disease.
