WASHINGTON (AP) --  A chartered Amtrak train carrying dozens of GOP lawmakers to a Republican policy retreat in West Virginia struck a garbage truck in a rural Virginia town on Wednesday. No lawmakers or aides were reported injured, but the White House said one person was killed and another was seriously hurt.

It happened near Charlottesville, Virginia Wednesday.

The only New York congressmen confirmed on the train are John Katko and John Faso.

Both men's offices say they are safe and were not hurt, nor was anyone else on the train.

As for our other Upstate New York representatives, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, Claudia Tenney and Congressman Tom Reed and Chris Collins were not on the train.

No lawmakers were believed injured in the accident.
