If you're traveling anywhere in the Carolinas on this day before Thanksgiving, the weather should not slow you down. Just don't forget your sunglasses!

A weak area of low pressure moving off the Carolina coast did bring rain showers to portions of central and eastern North Carolina late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. With those showers ending around sunrise Wednesday, clearing is expected across the eastern half of the state through the morning. That will make for mostly sunny conditions statewide during the afternoon.

High temperatures Wednesday in most of the state will top out in the 60s. A few locations in the Sandhills and southeastern North Carolina will be very close to 70. Western North Carolina will be cooler. Temperatures may only warm to the upper 40s in the mountains around Boone.

For travelers outside of North Carolina, the worst travel weather conditions Wednesday across the continental United States will be found around the Pacific Northwest. A series of storms systems will continue to produce heavy from from northern California to Oregon and Washington through Thanksgiving.
