Albany residents pass two city school district proposals to renovate one school building and buy another.
The first proposal will allow the district to complete $6.5 million in renovations at 50 North Lark Street to make it into a middle school. The second proposal will allow the district to buy the West Hill Middle School building, which they currently lease, and turn it into an Alternative Learning Center.
The projects would be paid for through state aid and the district's Capital Reserve Fund. School officials say both will be ready for the 2017-2018 school year.
