PERRY, N.Y. -- One person died in a violent collision between a pickup truck and a minivan Friday in Wyoming County.

The crash happened in the town of Perry. The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office says a minivan with New Jersey license plates was traveling west on Route 20A when a pickup failed to stop at the intersection of Route 246.

Deputies say the pickup broadsided the minivan causing it to flip. One person in the minivan died. Another was flown by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital. Four others were taken to Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.

Deputies are now determining if everyone in the minivan is from New Jersey.
