GREAT BARRINGTON, N.Y. -- Several former staffers from the Eagleton School charged in connection with the abuse of students are arraigned in Berkshire Superior Court.
Juan Lopez-Lucas, Peter Meadow, Brian Puntin and Roscoe Adams entered not guilty pleas to charges of assault and caretaker abuse on a disabled person.
Lopez-Lucas and Meadow also pleaded not guilty to another charge of assault by means of a dangerous weapon.
Adams also pleaded not guilty to giving a false statement.
Meanwhile, Debra Davis also pleaded not guilty on a charge of intimidating a witness during the investigation.
Eagleton closed its doors earlier this month after its residential group care licenses were revoked and its approval as a provider of publicly funded special education services was withdrawn.
