ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Lollypop Farm is caring for several chickens after officers seized ten roosters and 12 hens from a home on Wilder Street in Rochester. The hens are reported to be groomed and trained to fight. Investigators said possession of animals with the intent to fight is a felony, which could result in prison or a fine.

Also last Thursday, the Farm took in 27 adult dogs, 5 puppies and 3 cats. These animals were living in Penfield under unsanitary conditions. The owner was not able to care for the animals and voluntarily surrendered them to the shelter. The animals are currently being evaluated and are not yet available for adoption.
