GUILDERLAND, N.Y. -- If there is one thing all of this cold and snow has been good for, it's building snowmen. But what we're about to show you is unlike any you've ever seen. And it was actually built with a good cause in mind.
A group of contractors decided back in November, when the region got it's first snowfall -- to build a 24-foot tall snowman on Route 158 in Guilderland.
They weren't trying to break any records, but they were hoping to raise a lot of money for Multiple Myeloma research.
One of the creators Kiel Weston explained how it was done.
"To build this snowman started plowing the yard every snowstorm starting in late November we had a little setback when we had some warm weather in December but plowed the yard into a huge pile then we have a four-foot snow blower that we go around in circles and just throwing it on top of itself and throwing it on top of itself," Weston said.
Weston says $400 was raised in just two days.
If you're curious, the snowman's eyes and buttons are made of tires. And the hat alone is 8 feet wide and 3 feet tall.
