This weekend on In Focus, we’re taking a closer look at upstate economic development.

JoDee Kenney sits down with Honora Spillane, senior vice president of Inclusive Growth for CenterState, a business and development organization that facilitates activity across its 12-county footprint. CenterState makes sure businesses here are growing and expanding and have the resources they need and attract new businesses.

Spillane says CenterState works with Micron every day in a number of areas, including workforce development, supply chain and development, and communications to help them understand doing business in New York.

CenterState is working to encourage Micron to work with New York state and local partners as it makes investments, buys land and opens an office and welcome center in downtown Syracuse. It is also working to help local businesses connect to those opportunities and understand what they mean and that they have the capital, the resources and the staff to meet that moment and opportunity.

You can watch the full interview above. And be sure to tune in for a look inside the biggest issues impacting upstate New York on In Focus with JoDee Kenney — every Sunday on Spectrum News 1.
