The Enchanted Florist in downtown Albany is showing love to local veterans this Christmas.

Louis Bannister has owned and operated the flower shop for almost a decade. The holiday season is his busiest time of the year.

That didn't stop him from putting together nearly 40 bouquets for the nursing home-unit at the Stratton VA Hospital.

He said it's only fitting to show his gratitude and boost the holiday spirit for the men and women who served our country.

These gifts have been something Bannister has been thinking a lot about during this pandemic.

“It’s already easy to forget people in nursing homes and then you add in the fact they can’t get visitors right now and it was just heavy on my mind and heavy on my heart.," said Bannister.

Because the VA is not allowing visitors, the flowers were left with an employee out front.

Bannister said this small gesture could go a long way.
