St. Peter's Health Partners will host a public forum to update the Troy community on the transition plan for Burdett Birth Center.

It will be held at Hudson Valley Community College at 6 p.m.

St. Peter’s Health Partners has said they made the decision to close the maternity unit because of the financial and staffing impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Advocates for Burdett Birth Center, including local politicians, say closing the county’s only place to give birth takes away access to necessary care and access to choice.

Transportation planning and midwifery-assisted delivery will be discussed.
