Union nurses at Albany Medical Center are rallying again on Saturday, continuing a wave of pushback against leaders there for what they're calling unsafe practices. They also raised concerns last week.
The New York State Nurses Association claims the hospital is forcing masks to be reused despite an adequate supply.
Members also claim patients are being moved from floor to floor without having COVID-19 test results back, creating a risk of spread.
They also accuse Albany Med of breaking its own safe staffing ratio for nurses to patients.
Now, this all comes after a contract negotiation between the hospital and union collapsed.
The union is planning a one-day strike this Tuesday.
The Albany Med CEO issued a statement on these accusations the last time we heard them, saying the hospital is doing everything it can to protect patients and staff, including with staffing levels and protective equipment.
