New restrictions are in effect on the sale of both flavored vaping and tobacco products.
Starting Monday, flavored tobacco vaping products without a Food and Drug Administration marketing order will be barred across New York.
Tobacco flavors are excluded from that restriction. Menthol flavors, however, will be banned.
Today's restrictions also prohibit pharmacies to sell tobacco products.
The new laws passed along with New York's 2021 fiscal year budget in April.
Advocates for these changes, including the governor, say they will promote health. They say this is especially true for young people who have been called vulnerable to flavored vaping marketing.
