Over 2,700 students received degrees or certificates during SUNY Empire's virtual commencement ceremony Saturday.

Former longtime anchor Solomon Syed hosted the event for the Class of 2021.

This year's graduates were a diverse group, ranging in age from 20 to 83 years old. Students also represented 60 counties across New York.

SUNY Empire anticipates their next graduation ceremony in December to be held in person.

The school educates 17,000 students a year in person and online.
