TROY, N.Y. -- A Troy man accused of killing his estranged wife pleads not guilty to murder charges. Police say David Campos fatally stabbed 44-year-old Denise Gely, 44, back on Nov. 23 at her 6th Avenue home.

They have not suggested a motive for the crime. Campos was arrested the day of the stabbing in New Jersey after a high-speed chase. The delay in his court appearance locally was because he was still working out the charges there.

“Obviously he's facing charges in New Jersey for that. The serious charge here is the homicide charge. Once we present the matter to the grand jury as I indicated in court, we'll see what a grand jury has to say about any additional charges,” said Rensselaer County District Attorney, Joel Abelove.

Campos is being held in the Rensselaer County Jail.
